Excel, MIS, dashboards and Power BI for growing businesses

Turn messy business data into a report your team actually uses.

We convert, clean, analyse, automate and visualise your business data in Excel and Power BI — starting with the workbook you already have, and only recommending something bigger once it has genuinely run out of room.

What We Do

Choose the outcome, not the tool. Every page states what is included and what is not.

Excel Automation

Remove the steps somebody repeats every week.

Industries

Who we build reporting for.

Online, key accounts and offline — the three ways trade actually splits, and the reports each one needs.

Online ChannelsCase work

Brands and sellers trading across marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms at once — where every platform issues its own purchase orders, fills them partially, reports offtake in its own format, and none of it adds up to one number until somebody makes it.

  • Purchase order report, platform by platform
  • PO fill rate, tracked by platform, SKU and week
  • Offtake (sell-out) report — what actually reached shoppers
  • SKU-level sales read against PO fill rate
  • Brand-wise sales, every platform combined
  • Combined offtake across all platforms, one number
  • Sell-in versus sell-out, reconciled
  • Stock cover and days of inventory by platform and dark store
  • Availability and out-of-stock tracking by listing
  • Returns, RTO, claims and deductions by platform
  • Ad spend against attributed sales, by platform

Key Accounts

Brands supplying the large retail chains, where each account raises its own purchase orders on its own cycle, fills them partially, and reports sell-out in its own format — and the national picture only exists once somebody builds it.

  • Purchase order report, account by account
  • PO fill rate, tracked by account, SKU and week
  • Sell-out (offtake) report per account
  • SKU-level sales read against PO fill rate
  • Brand-wise sales, every account combined
  • Store and region-wise offtake within an account
  • National, cash & carry and regional accounts read side by side
  • Stock cover and days of inventory at DC and store level
  • Claims, deductions and settlement reconciliation
  • Listing and planogram compliance against what was ordered

Offline Channels

General trade and everything else that sells without a platform in between — kirana, pharmacy, distribution, clinics, manufacturing and the rest. Different data, same question: what sold, where, and what should be reordered.

Process

How We Work

Five stages. Scope is agreed in writing at stage three, before anything gets built.

01

Understand the goal

We start with the decision or the workflow, not the dataset.

02

Inspect a sample

A small, safe sample tells us more than any amount of description.

03

Confirm scope

Deliverables, exclusions, assumptions, revisions and timeline, in writing.

04

Build and validate

We build, then we try to break it before you see it.

05

Hand off or maintain

You own the file, and somebody on your side can run it.

What happens at each stage

Packages

Know what you need? Start from a fixed scope.

Still deciding? Send a safe sample and we will recommend the simplest route that works.

Quick Fix

One workbook, one conversion, or one defined batch of records.

A single file, cleaned or converted, checked and handed back.

Included

  • Cleaned or converted file in Excel or CSV
  • Duplicate check and format standardisation
  • A note listing anything unreadable, missing or ambiguous

Not included

  • Analysis or interpretation of the data
  • A repeatable process — this is a one-time output
  • Dashboards, charts or reporting layers
Revisions
Two rounds, where a round means corrections against the agreed scope — not new requirements.
Timeline assumes
Assumes a legible source and a record count agreed before we start. An unreadable scan or a batch larger than quoted resets the estimate.
Get this scoped

Insight Report

A manager who needs a specific question answered, once, properly.

Clean data, defined KPIs, and a findings document that names what to do next.

Included

  • Prepared and sense-checked data
  • Written KPI definitions
  • Pivots, charts and the supporting workbook
  • A findings document with ranked recommendations

Not included

  • An interactive dashboard
  • A refresh mechanism — this answers a question at a point in time
  • Ongoing updates
Revisions
Two rounds on the findings document, plus corrections to any figure that fails reconciliation.
Timeline assumes
Assumes the data can answer the question. We check that first and will tell you if it cannot before you commit.
Get this scoped

Interactive Dashboard

Sales, stock, finance or leadership visibility that several people share.

An Excel or Power BI dashboard, with the KPI definitions and refresh written down.

Included

  • Dashboard in Excel or Power BI, at an agreed page count
  • Filters, drill-downs and period comparison
  • KPI definition document
  • Refresh, sharing and access guide
  • A handover walkthrough

Not included

  • Power BI licences — bought by you, directly from Microsoft
  • Tenant administration or gateway infrastructure on your network
  • Embedding into your own application
  • Preparing the data each period
Revisions
Two rounds against the agreed page and KPI list. Adding a KPI after sign-off is a change request.
Timeline assumes
Assumes stable, accessible sources. If the refresh depends on a system we have not confirmed we can reach, that confirmation happens before the estimate stands.

Case Studies

How we read a business.

Analytical case studies on public datasets, by our founders. Labelled as case studies rather than client work, because that is what they are.

  • Case study

Return-Rate Economics for a ₹7.2 Crore Apparel Business

Read revenue, returns and fulfilment against each other to show that three separate-looking problems shared one cause: a ₹596 basket too thin to carry a clothing return rate.

Public e-commerce dataset. Not a client engagement.

    Revenue analysed
    ₹7,17,72,313
    Average order value
    ₹596
  • Case study

Precision Medicine: Which Patient Gets Which Drug

Clinical trial and genomic data read three ways — which patients respond, which patients react badly, and which treatment plans hold up on progression-free survival.

Public clinical-trial dataset, analysed independently. No relationship with Pfizer, and not a client engagement.

Trust & Privacy

Your data, handled the way we would want ours handled.

Including the parts that are inconvenient to admit.

  • You know who is doing the work

Both founders are named on the About page. No subcontractors are used, and if that ever changes we will tell you before it applies to your project.

  • Nothing is uploaded to this website

There is no upload box, because we have not built storage we are willing to make promises about. Share a link you control, and you can revoke it whenever you like.

  • Send the minimum, not the maximum

One representative sample is enough to scope a project. Where the work does not need identifying fields, strip them before sending rather than trusting anyone with them.

Why Make My MIS

Why Make My MIS?

Because reporting should do more than report.

  • 01

    We Understand Business

We don't just organize numbers. We understand the business problem behind them.

  • 02

    Excel First, Scale Later

We improve the workbook you already have before recommending anything that needs a licence. The upgrade path stays open; you just are not pushed down it early.

  • 03

    Simple, Not Complicated

Complex data should result in simple answers.

  • 04

    Scope Written Down First

Inclusions, exclusions, revisions and timeline are agreed before the work starts — so the boundary is something you read, not something you discover.

FAQs

Questions worth asking before you hire anyone.

Including the ones with answers that cost us something to publish.

What files do you need from me?

To quote: one representative file or page — the messy one, not the tidy one. To build: the sources behind it, in whatever format they already exist. Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, a system export, a PDF or a scan all work. We will tell you what is needed before any full-file transfer, and we would rather see a small sample first than a full dataset we have not yet agreed to handle.

Can you work with sensitive or confidential data, and is an NDA available?

Yes to both. We will sign your NDA — we do not currently offer a template of our own, so yours governs. For anything sensitive, tell us before you send it and we will agree how it gets transferred. Where the analysis does not need identifying fields, we would rather you remove them than trust us with them. We do not publish client data or screenshots without written permission, and we do not claim encryption, ISO, SOC 2 or HIPAA controls, because we have not implemented them.

Will the report refresh when new data arrives?

Only if it was scoped to. A one-time report answers a question at a point in time; a refreshable one needs the source to arrive in a consistent shape each period, and it is built differently. Tell us at the scoping stage which you want — converting the first into the second afterwards costs more than building the second outright.

When should we use Excel, and when Power BI?

Stay in Excel while one or two people read the report, the data fits comfortably in a workbook, and the refresh can be someone opening a file. Move to Power BI when several people need the same view, the workbook has become slow, the report has to work on a phone, or the refresh has to be scheduled rather than remembered. We assess this before we quote and will tell you to stay in Excel when that is the honest answer — it costs you less and needs no licence.
