Data Analysis & Business Analysis

Start with the question. The tool comes after.

Who this is for. Businesses with a specific question — why is margin falling, which channel is worth more, where are we losing customers — and data that has never been put to it.

The problem

What usually brings people here.

  • Performance is flat and nobody can say which fix pays first.
  • You have a hypothesis but no way to test it against the numbers.
  • The report describes what happened but not what to do next.

What we need from you

  • The question, written as a question
  • The data that might answer it, plus anything you already believe about the answer
  • The decision that follows, and who makes it

What you get back

  • A findings document: what the data supports, what it does not, and what it cannot say
  • The supporting workbook, with the working left visible
  • A recommendation ranked by what pays first
  • Stated assumptions and limitations

How it runs

The work, step by step.

  1. We agree the question and what an answer would have to look like.
  2. We check whether your data can answer it — before you pay for analysis that cannot.
  3. We analyse: trends, variance, segmentation, scenarios as the question demands.
  4. We present findings, including the ones that contradict the hypothesis.

On top of this sits the five-stage engagement process that every project follows — including what usually goes wrong at each stage.

The boundary

Included, and not included.

Both lists are published at the same weight, deliberately. A boundary you discover during delivery is a boundary you were not told about.

Included

  • Data preparation and sense-checking
  • Descriptive analysis, trend and variance work
  • Segmentation and cohort comparison
  • Scenario comparison where the data supports one
  • Recommendations with the reasoning shown

Not included

  • A guaranteed business outcome. Nobody can promise that before seeing the data, and anyone who does is selling something else.
  • Predictive or statistical modelling presented as certainty
  • Analysis of data we have told you is not fit to answer the question
When we would tell you not to buy this.
  • The question is really a reporting question. If you need the same view every month, an MIS pack costs less and serves you longer.

Packages

How this is usually bought.

FAQs

Data Analysis & Business Analysis — the questions we get asked.

Answers here match the full FAQ page; this is the subset relevant to this service.

Can you work with sensitive or confidential data, and is an NDA available?

Yes to both. We will sign your NDA — we do not currently offer a template of our own, so yours governs. For anything sensitive, tell us before you send it and we will agree how it gets transferred. Where the analysis does not need identifying fields, we would rather you remove them than trust us with them. We do not publish client data or screenshots without written permission, and we do not claim encryption, ISO, SOC 2 or HIPAA controls, because we have not implemented them.

Why is there no file upload on your quote form?

Because we have not built file storage we are willing to make promises about. Until we have, a share link you control — Google Drive, OneDrive, WeTransfer — is safer for you than an upload box on a marketing site: you can see who opened it and you can revoke it. Ask us on the form and we will send an address to share with.

What affects the price, and why are no prices published?

What affects it: volume, source quality, the number of separate sources, how much cleanup is needed before the real work starts, and whether a refresh mechanism is in scope. Why nothing is published: this is a new practice, and a rate published before we understand our own delivery times would be a number we could not stand behind. We quote after seeing a sample, and the quote does not move unless the scope does.
